Man who committed mercy killing years ago denied expanded parole because he’s a man

Story here. As unbelievable as it might seem, a man who was convicted in the "mercy killing" of his severely disabled child has been denied increased parole for no reason other than being male, despite the fact that he poses no danger to the community. Whatever your feelings on euthanasia, the institutionalized sexism he's facing in the Canadian penal system is an affront to human dignity.
From the article:
Although the parole board indicated Latimer is "successfully reintegrating into the community," it says his case does not meet the test of "exceptional circumstances" for expanded leave.
The board says it may consider expanded leave to "be responsive to the needs of female, aboriginal, ethnic minority or special needs offenders."
Apparently men need not apply for equal treatment under Canadian law. It isn't enough of an injustice for men to serve radically longer sentences for the same crimes; they're also being denied parole rights on the basis of their gender.
If Mr. Latimer were Mrs. Latimer, he'd be on full parole right now.

CANCER RESEARCH UK IN SEXISM COVER UP

Dissatisfaction with the antics of Cancer Research UK is becoming increasing widespread, a quick search on Google shows just how many people are concerned about their sex discrimination against men. Protest videos are even to be found on Youtube and it appears that all this pressure is finally starting to have an effect.
Firstly it has emerged that CRUK are now attempting to hide the inherently sexist nature of Race for Life. For example their recent press adverts now neglect to mention that men are barred from participating in the event. Luckily there are laws against misleading adverting such as this, and I can exclusively reveal that veteran men's rights campaigner John Taylor (with a little help from this blog) successfully forced the organisation to stop producing misleading adverts via the Adverting Standards Authority. If readers of the blog could keep an eye on future Race for Life publicity for any misleading information I'm sure John would appreciate it.
A second change in the strategy of Cancer Research UK seems to be their attempt to censor information about Race for Life sexism from the internet. The Wikipedia article on the subject previously gave an excellent and balanced summary of the issue and the history of Race for Life. However, recent unnamed edits removed information such as how the event was initially only concerned with female cancers and how CRUK responded to criticisms of sexism. It has now become apparent that these edits were made from CRUK's own offices and rather ironically, they even removed links to their own press release about how men have a "significantly greater" risk of cancer and higher mortality rates!
It's often claimed the organisation neglects men, but to go so far as deleting such mentions of men's suffering is almost beyond belief and such edits are a clear breach of Wikipedia rules on Conflicts of Interest. CRUK's misleading adverting could possibly have been considered to be an oversight, but the Wikipedia censorship places the issue in a whole new light.
We place a great deal of importance on fairness and honesty on this blog so it should be noted that CRUK is far from the only UK cancer or health organisation giving vastly disproportionate attention to women. The Macmillian cancer charity has been equally guilty in neglecting prostate cancer though I'm not aware of any obvious or systematic discrimination in terms of banning men from most fund-raising activities.
As a charity relying on people's generous donations and goodwill, CRUK has a duty to be open and honest about what it does. These donations fund the misleading adverts and the salaries of the CRUK employee's censoring Wikipedia. Surely it would be much cheaper and easier (not to mention fairer) to have fund-raising events open to everyone instead of banning every single male in the country from most event? There would certainly be less of a need for a cover up. Either way, it's becoming apparent that pressure on the charity is barring fruit and one has to wonder for how much longer their position can remain tenable.by John Kimble

The Manginas at Amnesty International

Dr. Stephen Baskerville has been one of the preeminent men's rights activist actively working for years now. I've cited his works previously on this blog several times in the past.
He recently published a new article called Human Rights or Wrongs? calling out Amnesty International for caving in to Swedish Feminists demands that a movie regarding the unfairness of Swedish family courts in dealing with Father's be removed from the competition and dropped from Amnesty International's website completely.
Amnesty sponsored a film competition, but when some finalists produced a film that angered feminists, the film was pulled from Amnesty’s YouTube site. Amnesty denies that pressure from an Uppsala women’s shelter was responsible for suppressing the film, but the shelter itself is gloating about its political clout.
The film, created by four high school students and titled, The Right To Be a Father, is a powerful depiction of how children are taken from their fathers by Sweden’s feminist family courts. Separating children from their fathers is not only a bedrock principle of the war against "patriarchy," but also the bread-and-butter of the lucrative child custody industry, so it is not surprising that the sisterhood would come down hard on the heresy that feminists violate human rights.
The film was nominated for the final stage of the competition. Amnesty posted it on YouTube, and the creators were invited to the film gala in Gothenburg. "But our film was never shown at the festival, and the day after it also disappeared from Amnesty's YouTube channel," says Sara Sivesson, one of the creators. Further, the students claim they obtained an email from the Uppsala feminists bragging, "Thanks to the protests Amnesty did not show the film at the festival and they also dropped it from their website."
Here's the short, 8 minute documentary the Feminists where able to badger the mangina's at Amnesty International to remove from their competition -
Baskerville than expands his indictment of AI in highlighting the way in which they re-define "domestic violence" as a form of torture to allow authoritarian and totalitarian action by Governments.
In domestic violence cases there is seldom a trial, almost never a jury, and no one is ever acquitted. One study published in Criminology and Public Policy found that everyone arrested for domestic violence receives some punishment. Special "domestic violence courts" now exist for the express purpose of processing more convictions.
It is based on this presumption of guilt that Amnesty can claim that in the US "a woman is battered every 15 seconds." Amnesty provides no documentation for this preposterous figure, because none exists. We also learn that "Amnesty International considers domestic violence a form of torture," demonstrating an Orwellian willingness to redefine words and cheapening their own campaign against real torture.
Amnesty is quite clear that it is stretching the meaning of "human rights" into a backdoor penal instrument. "A human rights framework…enables Amnesty International to use international human rights standards and laws…to hold governments accountable if they fail to meet their obligations to protect women." In other words, far from limiting government reach and repression, Amnesty is working to expand them.
If you were/are a supporter that gives donations to Amnesty International, you may want to re-think you're support for this organization of mangina feminist lackeys.

Canada: Mother sues son she abandoned at age 15 for parental support

Story here. Excerpt:
'When Ken Anderson was just 15, his mother, Shirley, made it clear: She didn't want him anymore.
Ken's father, a long-haul trucker, had been transferred from Osoyoos, B.C., to the province's Kootenay region. Although their marriage was rocky, Shirley followed, taking second-youngest son Darryl with her.
Ken was left behind. He had plenty of time to think about it as he wiped bug splatter off car windshields and pumped gas at the local station to make a buck. He says he can't even remember how many couches he slept on, or how he kept himself going. He just knows he never got to go to a prom, finish high school or even think about college.
The way he sees it, he never really had a mother.
On Aug. 3 and 4, Ken, now 46, will face off in B.C. Supreme Court against the woman who gave birth to him.
Shirley Anderson, 71, is suing Ken and four of his five siblings for parental support. The case has been dragging on for years, but the August hearing should complete it.'

F&F: Victory—Crucial Bill from Opponents of Recognizing Parental Alienation Defeated
| Contributor: | Men's Activism News [source] | |

Blog entry here. Excerpt:
'Fathers and Families and its legislative allies have succeeded in killing one of the worst family law bills in modern history–California’s AB 612. The bill, put forward by the well-funded advocacy group Center for Judicial Excellence (and supported by the California National Organization for Women), would have banned Parental Alienation from being mentioned in any way, shape, or form in a California family court. Because of California’s tremendous influence in shaping the laws of other states, this loss would have led to a mushrooming of similarly damaging legislation in other states.
Fathers and Families’ legislative representative Michael Robinson helped cobble together a coalition of family law professional organizations and experts to oppose the bill. We were able to bottle the bill up in the Senate Judiciary Committee last year and keep it there until last week, when it died. To learn more about the bill, see our co-authored column Preventing courts from considering parental alienation will harm kids (Capitol Weekly, 2/25/10).'

Woman said man raped, held her captive
Police: She's known for false rape allegations
AUSTIN (KXAN) - Authorities arrested Kristin Milligan, 54, after police said she made false reports about being raped and sparked an emergency response from the Austin Police Department Friday.
A couple of police officers responded to Sixth Street and Congress Avenue about a disturbance in progress at 8:15 p.m., after Milligan reportedly called to say there was a male on the scene who had kidnapped and held her captive for five days. Milligan allegedly told the operator he had fled the scene but said she could see him assaulting another female at the moment.
Police found the suspect matching the caller's description at a bus stop a block away, where the man told police Milligan approached him at Sixth Street and Congress Avenue and said she would call 911 to report he had raped her if he did not get her a beer.
The man told police he did not know her and that because of her erratic behavior, he quickly walked away to the bus stop.
Police again approached Milligan, who they said told them the man had kidnapped her two weeks ago and kept her for several days. However, one of the officers said he had personally seen Milligan recently and had heard of other officers who had come in contact with her.
"Her involvement with our department shows that she has consistent involvement with us numerous times a week for the months of May, June and July," read court documents. "She also frequently makes false rape allegations."
Police said no one around the Sixth Street and Congress Avenue bus stop saw the man assaulting or disturbing Milligan or anyone else.
That's when police said it was clear Milligan had knowingly made a call to 911, given false information about an assault that was not happening and that the call and information elicited an emergency response from APD.
Police went to arrest Milligan, but they said she pulled away from them and fell to the ground. An officer moved in and started to handcuff her when she allegedly kicked out with her left leg, pushing the officer away while he tried to arrest her.
Authorities transported Milligan to Travis County Central Booking, where she allegedly became very irate and kept standing up, cursing and yelling. Authorities said she spat on an officer’s shirt and left forearm after making her sit down on the jail bench.
Milligan is charged with harassment of a public servant, a third-degree felony. Bond is set at $5,000.

Canada: Mad Mel – “Nothing wrong with him that a Louisville Slugger couldn’t fix”

'Nothing wrong with him that a Louisville Slugger couldn't fix
...
Wait. Is it the Year of the Pig? It feels that way, given Mel Gibson’s raging return to the public eye these last few months. His has been a comeback that will finally threaten to decertify the axiom that there is no such thing as bad publicity.
With his fifth obscene telephone rant to his comely partner, Oksana Grigorieva, the talk of the town, he appears to be starring in one of those films whose style he has always gravitated to – end-of-the-world tales of ragged heroism, fatal flaw firmly in place.
...
Gibson snarled that Grigorieva needed a bat to her head, as she held her baby, and, horribly, listened. I like real pigs. As for the Gibson kind, there’s nothing that a Louisville Slugger couldn’t improve in his gigantic, cruelty-riven head.'

Excerpt from their site:
"The Man MOT (Monday Opportunity to Talk) online surgery is here every Monday evening from 6pm-11pm to offer men a free and secure service where they can talk to a GP anonymously, and in confidence.
The fully qualified GPs can discuss specific aspects of your health but if you’d just like to find out more about general health matters, feel free to look around the site as lots of the information can be downloaded or printed.
The surgery will also be running a series of specialist sexual health and relationship clinics hosted by sexual health expert Tracey Cox and Relate counsellors. This follows recent research highlighting that two in five men (42%) would feel most confident turning to the internet for advice if they experienced any sexual performance problems.
Our GP’s can talk to you about any health problem, suggest the best course of action to take, and direct you to appropriate health services if necessary. However, as they do not have access to your medical records and are not able to perform a clinical examination, they cannot give individualised medical advice or offer a specific medical diagnosis.

UK: Rape charge anonymity pledge dropped
| Contributor: | Men's Activism News [source] | |
| Date: | July 26, 2010 |
Article here. Excerpt:
'Plans to change the law to grant anonymity to men charged with rape in England and Wales have apparently been dropped by the Ministry of Justice.
The ministry said it had not ruled out anonymity between arrest and charge.
But Justice Minister Crispin Blunt has said he would rather put pressure on the media not to name suspects than bring in a new law.
Labour welcomed the apparent U-turn but said the government's handling of the issue had been "lamentable".
The plan to grant anonymity to rape suspects was a surprise inclusion in the government's coalition agreement in May.
It had not been in the Conservative or Liberal Democrat election manifestos, although it had been Lib Dem policy since 2006.
The coalition agreement pledged to "extend anonymity in rape cases to defendants", with ministers stressing the need to "protect anyone who may be wrongly accused from harmful stigma".'
